Stefan de Bruijn was Teezir's first employee. Stefan is the architect of Teezir's Search Platform, that provides the foundation for the business applications we deliver to our clients.
In 1999, Stefan started on his work on information retrieval at the University of Twente. Here, he created a search engine for the local area network, handling thousands of computers with terabytes of information. The search engine handled over a million queries each month.
In 2003, Stefan was a consultant for the Dutch parliament, where he proposed natural language and search solutions. Among other solutions, Stefan was responsible for the fully automatic alignment of the text of the stenographers with recorded video material, based on automatic speech recognition.
In 2004, Stefan got his masters degree on computer science, on the subject of modelling users intentions from documents to get better search results, in the context of information retrieval. The research was done under the supervision of Paul van der Vet and professor Theo Huibers, both from University of Twente.
In 2004, Stefan started to work at VX Company, a professional outsourcing firm. Here he learned a lot about business problems in a number of different roles, including architect and project leader and was involved in projects from a vast number of companies, like BCC, Dynadro (DA), TNT Post (formerly known as TPG) and Sonepar (Technische Unie). As a project lead he was responsible for the search engine that was used to search the millions of products in order to fill shopping baskets. By improving search results, more products were added to shopping baskets and more money was made in the process.
In november 2006, Stefan joined Teezir where he still works on a variety of different search solutions.
